It is truly unbelievable and remarkable what photography promotes in our heads, minds, especially mine, of a photographer. There are many “mind trips” that I go through in each photo shoot and then during the later stage of image selection and post processing. (texto em Português ao final) Continue reading “Rural Workers: New Protagonists. New stories. But “all things must past”.”

Winter evening twilight

Winter evening twilight at São Carlos, São Paulo state, SE Brazil.
Hands that paint, sculpt and burn
I have always been fascinated by the manual work of those people who daily, 30 days a month, 365 days a year are hard, but tenderly with their hands and arms.
And, there is no greater example of this work than in a porcelain articles factory. In this case, the Monte Sião Porcelain factory, in the city of Monte Sião, MG-Brasil.
Cascade of lights
Cascade of lights in the skies of São Carlos, São Paulo state, SE Brazil.
It is not all day that you see such a sky. As I’m always with my little Lumix LX100II camera on board, everything I needed to do is look at the skies for this great sunset.
I live in southeastern Brazil and we are in the beginning of winter … a very mild winter, I must say, with pleasant temperatures. It only bothers the low atmospheric humidity of this time.
What impresses me the most about Matt Black’s photography.
In general terms, each one of us writes things about topics that we like, which we value. As a photographer, I write not only about my photography, but about other artists-photographers that I admire, who have works that most impact me, and this is the case of this post: I want to write to say about what impacts me the most, what brings me the most excitement in his work, which I would call, photojournalist-photographer-artist-social scientist North American, named Matt Black. Continue reading “What impresses me the most about Matt Black’s photography.”
Feast of the Holy Kings – Glória, MG-Brasil (2017-9)

Street colors
You only realize how many colors there are on the city streets when you photograph the streets of the city in color.
It seems kind of obvious, but it’s the pure reality.
This series of photos has no post processing whatsoever and reveals the colors of the streets in the city.
I liked the result so much and decided to post.
Ready. Posted !!!
Contrasting colors and textures of cities
I’ve always liked simple records of city streets as scenes that show contrasting colors and textures and repetitive elements.
It’s as if these scenes come into my mind and get stuck there. To release them I feel this impulse to photograph them. If I do not do this, it seems they will not let me follow my walk.
Life’s weird and strange things….

Aesthetics in white and black photography
