Others massacred by bloodthirsty drones and missiles,
Murdered without mercy
From hunger, thirst and bullets
Think of your decapitated limbs
Their broken hearts
Wounds like red poppies
Dried, faded in a dry vase, on a table in a corner of the house
Broken
On some corner that no longer exists
Broken
Don’t forget the red poppy
From the red poppy of Palestine
The same color as spilled blood
Never forget the dried, faded red poppy
Stained with blood
Abandoned
No petals, no red
With nothing

It is with pleasure that I invite everyone interested to the opening on April 25, 2024 at 7:00 pm of the photography exhibition MY AMAZÔNIA PITTORESCA with my original photographs of the Amazon region that I took over a long period (1982-2012).
The photographs were digitized from negatives (B&W and in color) and slides (slides) in color and restored (mostly) and the files generated were printed using the sublimation transfer method in size 100x150cm on Tahiti fabric 150m/m2.
The exhibition can be seen at the USP Cultural Center in São Carlos (Av. Dr. Carlos Botelho – Centro, São Carlos, São Paulo-Brasil) until May 29, 2024.

{reconstructing Nineteen Eighty-Four}
Reconstructing Michael Radford’s “Nineteen Eighty-Four” (1984) from George Orwell’s glorious book of the same name (1948).
The photomontages are of scenes from the film that I have just re-watched for the ‘n’th time and I photographed the TV screen that overlaps photos of me of Usina São Carlos (sugar and alcohol plant) (Jaboticabal SP Brazil) during the period when it was being demolished already 2-3 years ago.

Note: it’s like Alfred Stieglitz (1864-1946) once said when he was creating his project “Equivalents”: the clouds are there for free… just take photos… I would add: and, they don’t ask you to obtain authorization to photograph…

Launch of my latest photography book called ASSOMBRAÇÕES (HAUNTINGS) at the FOTO EM PAUTA Festival in Tiradentes, Minas Gerais, Brazil from March 6-10, 2024.
At this same festival, five of my photos of the Brazilian Amazon from my project called MY PITORRESCA AMAZON will also be projected, which is the theme of my next photography exhibition to be held at the Arts and Convention Center of the Federal University of Ouro Preto, Ouro Preto, Minas Gerais, Brazil in the period March 17-20, 2024.
