Textures and colors are everywhere. Photograph them on the streets, in your backyard. I see them always conveying emotion. NOTA: segue texto em português ao final do post.
Much is said that the colors are a reason of distraction to the reader of the photos, the main objective of the photos. It is said that they divert attention to the central point of the photos. I do not know who said this: “Color photos are descriptive and black and white are interpretive.”
It seems all right to me. But we see the world in color. They, therefore, represent what we see, without abstractions. They describe the details of what we see.
I think it’s cool that certain photographers only reproduce their images in colors, others only in black and white.
In my short ‘career’ as an amateur photographer, which does not correspond to more than 8 years (when I decided to dedicate full time to photography), I have not been able to define myself as a “black and white or color photographer “.
I feel that every series or project that I dedicate, I make the photography that most excites me: black and white or color. I am guided by emotion. The emotion is the one that dictates if the photo (or the series of photos) will have colors or not. And this is what has kept me happy, which is the main thing.
