RURAL WORKERS

“The simple men and women of the countryside who live from the land and for the land on their small rural properties and many others who shed their sweat daily in labor on other people’s properties and businesses are those who know the true value of the land, love the land , love their places. They are the authentic, anonymous and invisible heroes and heroines and, truly, the strong of this country”
Photography book by Antonio Mozeto. ‘Rural’. Editora Origem (Publisher). São Paulo Brazil. 126pp. 2021

  1. Rural workers: About eight years ago, I stopped to stretch my legs on the long drive from the Paucartambo festival to Lima, (four days drive). We were immediately invited to attend a village wedding, a wonderful time which is registered in my post, “Wedding in Colquepata” Two days ago, I revisited the family, taking printed photographs that I had taken. Unfortunately the bride had recently died. However they were pleased to have the photos. The whole family cultivate a small parcel of land. Their life is very hard, yet speaking to them one feels they have a richness which we city dwellers have lost or perhaps just forgotten.

    1. Yes. We have much to learn from/with these people. For this reson I enjoy a lot making portraits because I talk to the people…I have to interact to them…it´s always a rewarding experience.
